Who we are

The Congregation of Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd (also known as Good Shepherd Sisters) is an international apostolic religious institute of pontifical right. As women religious, called to a mission of reconciliation, the Sisters of the Good Shepherd express the charism of merciful love through an apostolic life or a contemplative life. United in the same charism, “we commit ourselves to live the gospel in the spirit of our Foundress, Saint Mary Euphrasia.”

“ Let us rouse ourselves and go forward! As we are all shepherds, no one small corner of the earth should hold us back. ”

With prayer, witness and service, the Mission has expanded and evolved. Collaborative ministries with lay persons now take on a more formal role. Today, Good Shepherd partners comprising lay associates, staff, volunteers, benefactors, friends and our families mutually share, support and develop the Mission, taking greater responsibilities to continue the Good Shepherd Mission.
